  • Uses simple hand or power tools along with uncomplicated jigs and fixtures.

  • Mechanical aptitude as evidenced by work experience, high school/tech school coursework, hobbies, etc.

1st|6:00 AM-6:00 PM (2-2-3 Rotating schedule)

Working every other weekend Fri, Sat, Sun

Assembling gas meters for houses.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Performs repetitive mechanical assembly involving sensitive or precise dexterous movements to maintain pace and quality of assembly work.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
  • Successfully completes all site-specific training regarding safety and quality. Receives components or items for assembly and/or test in programmed sequence.
  • Assembles and/or tests mechanical or electrical components by means of sensitive hand and equipment coordination. May assemble minor variations of in-house standard products.
  • Follows clear assembly/test instructions, e.g. color code, pvc thermal welding and thread taping. Uses simple hand or power tools along with uncomplicated jigs and fixtures.
  • Enter work hours in ERP system (Currently SAP), if applicable to site.
  • Completes required documentation related to production.
  • Drives continuous improvement process and conducts daily housekeeping/5S audits to ensure continuous improvement activities.
  • Reads and understands simple layout and assembly drawings.
  • Maintains equipment and area in clean safe condition.
  • Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS-FORMAL EDUCATION Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

 KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Required:

  • Mechanical aptitude as evidenced by work experience, high school/tech school coursework, hobbies, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
  • May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
  • Work surfaces may include concrete.
  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
  • 3-5 years experience
