100% on-site (there is no work from home/no hybrid)
Working hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5pm or 8:00am-5pm type of business hours; occasional weekend hours (will have notice)
Senior Research Associate - Pre-Pivotal Biologics Development
Location: Oceanside, CA
Duration: 1 year; this role could be extended - this would be determined closer to the end date of assignment
- Client has a contract opportunity for an industry experienced Scientist in the Cell Line Development (CLD) group at our Oceanside campus facility.
- Seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented individual to design and execute experiments to support cell culture and clone development for our rapidly growing biologics pipeline.
- The successful candidate will also contribute to the overall strategy of new technology development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in end-to-end Cell Line Development pipeline projects, including activities from vector design and construction to clonal cell lines ready for Master Cell Bank generation.
- Support CLD activities including clone selection, technology development, media development, process optimization, and process characterization studies.
- Support process improvements for increased speed and efficiency to generate highly productive, high quality, robust cell lines that meet all regulatory requirements with high quality documentation.
- Hands-on laboratory operations such as molecular biology, shake flask, bench scale bioreactor and novel culture platforms.
- Contribute to written technical reports, present in group meetings, and work cross-functionally to achieve common goals.
Education:
- BS (or MS) with 5+ years experience in a relevant scientific discipline (biology, bioengineering, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering).
Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience with mammalian cell culture (CHO) and automation/high-throughput technologies for mammalian cell line generation and process optimization preferred.
- Excellent communication, technical report writing, and presentation skills and aptitude for creative problem solving.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Experience in statistics and data analysis (e.g. JMP, Spotfire).
