This is essentially an outdoor mechanical service technician role where you travel to customer sites, inspect and maintain hydrants and water system equipment, solve basic mechanical problems, and provide customer support.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Executes filed service activities at customer sites in a safe and efficient manner.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Creates and maintains safe working environment and cultures within the organization.
• Takes care of company property.
• Trouble shoots systems for mechanical, electrical equipment conditions.
• Identify and remedy safety issues both Company and Customer owned equipment.
• Direct interfacing with customer.
• Potentially at multiple sites with multiple technologies.

Organization Impact:

• First line of technical service support.
• Customer facing.
• High utilization.
• Accountable to customer for operation and repair of the system.
• Inspecting valves and servicing hydrants.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS- FORMAL EDUCATION: HS diploma or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to obtain TWIC card.
• Technical experience.
• Experience with Microsoft office including smart devises.
• Must have customer service experience.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and trouble shooting ability.
• Able to pass a credit check.
• Able to obtain a CDL, class A or B with applicable endorsements.

PPE:

• Steel toes boots.
• All other PPE is provided by Client.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

• Passenger of vehicle.
• Able to acompany driver and maintain a company vehicle.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
• Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs. Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
• May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
• May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
• Work surfaces may include concrete.
• Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
• Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
